Alcohol Addiction

Alcohol addiction can affect anyone, no matter your age, job, or background. Some people drink to manage stress or emotional pain. Others drink to feel “normal” or to escape overwhelming feelings. Over time, what may have started as a coping mechanism can turn into a habit that feels impossible to break. At MLB Recovery, we understand that alcohol addiction isn’t a choice. It’s a medical condition that deserves compassion, not judgment. We’re here to offer that support through trusted, compassionate treatment for alcoholism in New Jersey.

Understanding Alcoholism

Alcoholism, or alcohol use disorder, is a medical condition where a person can’t stop drinking despite clear harm. Alcohol changes how the brain works, making it hard to quit. It’s physically addictive, and detox is often necessary for safe withdrawal.

People with alcoholism may drink daily or binge. They often feel sick, anxious, or overwhelmed when trying to stop. Many hide their drinking out of fear or shame. These behaviors aren’t weaknesses; they are symptoms of a serious condition that needs medical support.

Alcohol addiction is more common than most think. 28.1 million people in the US struggle with AUD. It can affect anyone. If you’re struggling, it’s not your fault. Recovery is possible. With the right care, you can reclaim your health and your life.

Outpatient Alcohol Addiction Treatment in New Jersey at MLB Recovery

At MLB Recovery, we offer flexible outpatient programs in a supportive and safe setting. As an alcoholism treatment center in New Jersey, we focus on people first. Our outpatient care helps you stay connected to your life while still receiving the care that you need to overcome AUD.

We offer three levels of outpatient treatment:

Our partial hospitalization program provides the most structure. You come to the center for several hours a day, multiple times a week. This program offers strong clinical and community support in the earlier stages of recovery. Each day includes therapy, learning skills, and building healthy routines. You go home at night to rest and be with loved ones.

Our IOP offers care a few days a week for several hours at a time. This level is good for people who need support but also want to work, study, or care for their family. This level of care is a perfect transition between PHP and an outpatient setting. In IOP, you attend therapy, build new habits, and learn how to stay sober. IOP helps you balance your recovery with your daily life.

This level of care is often the stage of treatment. Outpatient offers even more flexibility. You may attend therapy once or twice a week and meet with your therapist for individual sessions. It is a helpful way to stay connected, check in, and keep moving forward.

Therapies Used for Alcohol Addiction Treatment

At MLB Recovery, we use a mix of therapies that treat your mind, body, and emotions. We incorporate the most appropriate therapies into your personalized treatment plan to help you heal.

You meet individually with a licensed therapist to discuss your feelings, decisions, and past experiences. Together, you identify strategies to cope, grow, and maintain sobriety.

In group therapy, you connect with others who know what you're facing. You share, support each other, and learn new ways to stay strong.

CBT helps you spot harmful thoughts and replace them. It trains you to make better choices and handle stress in healthy ways to overcome alcohol addiction.

DBT helps you manage emotions and avoid unsafe behavior. You learn how to stay calm, solve problems, and handle tough moments.

Alcohol addiction affects the whole family. Family therapy helps loved ones heal together. It builds better communication and support at home.

We support your whole self with yoga, art, mindfulness, and other holistic therapies. These approaches reduce stress and help you feel balanced and connected.

All therapies are provided in a safe, respectful space. We support your growth every step of the way.
